Why continue to study and what is the future of Education, if today a Diploma isn't the most import?

Entrepreneurship in the 21st century

About two-thirds of children who are currently in primary school are very likely to work in professions that do not yet exist. The world is changing and very quickly, a good part of it thanks to technology.

According to a study in the Future of Jobs Report of the W.E.F. – World Economic Forum, from the point of view of competences and changes, creativity was in 10th place in 2015. In 2020, if you look closely, the priorities of these competences changed in just 5 years. #Creativity is currently in 3rd place.

The Top 3 current #skills are:

1st - solving complex problems (opportunities)

2nd - critical thinking

3rd- creativity

These 3 skills are closely linked to the entrepreneurial attitude.

What is it to be an entrepreneur?

Being an entrepreneur is not just someone who starts a business. It means taking initiative, facing challenges, seeking opportunities, quality and excellence, taking responsibility for the consequences of decision-making, acting and not only acting in the field of thinking, seeking to equate solutions to company problems, finding solutions to people's needs , using creativity and innovation as a way to leverage a business, new technologies and new ways of Doing, in order to create #Value, not only individual, but also corporate.

Currently, an entrepreneur must also have skills in the area of Emotional Intelligence, that is, study how each one of us deals directly with this type of Change with himself and with the environment.

A person who focuses only on his own gains is not at all an entrepreneurial person, as that means he is out of date.

The entrepreneur is or should be concerned about society, whether in terms of local or global impact.

Being an entrepreneur is not just about having your own business. I can undertake a personal life project, but that might not be enough.

So we have 3 types of entrepreneurs:

. Classic: those who only generate Individual Value, who have their own business, can even earn money, but are not concerned with society and the environment, for example.

. Intra-Entrepreneur: employee who is part of a company and uses their skills on a daily basis to contribute to the organization.

. Social Entrepreneur: one who generates social businesses, tries to solve complex problems in society, philanthropy, social service.

This New Technological Revolution is demanding from people a new adaptation, at a faster and more intuitive pace. This then obliges a Change of Generations as well, because the same Society demands it.

Type X Generation was very concerned about Career, Security, Stability.

Generation Y and Z are more concerned with taking advantage of life, enjoying life, making dreams come true and now using technology.

Within this perspective, in each type of Generations businesses of different types are created, and new forms of economic activities emerge.

New jobs, new professions with all this evolution.

Currently the focus is on New Skills, working for skills, being or not being able to do it, regardless of having a Diploma.

Therefore, why continue to study and what is the future of Education, if a Diploma is not the most important?

It's a good question, isn't it?

The answer:

The Future of Education is now focused on training these Skills, mainly on problem solving, developing critical thinking and creativity. In short: entrepreneurial skills.

It is essential to train entrepreneurs so that in the near future, which is already felt, so that they can, in a collaborative and individual way, assume current positions in the society of this Generation 4.0. Thus, they will be able to generate a Good Impact in the World.

The world is becoming more and more enterprising, it is asking for more entrepreneurs. So it is necessary to train these Entrepreneurs.

Best wishes!
